Biopic über den jamaikanischen Reggae-Künstler Bob Marley (Kingsley Ben-Adir). Der Film zeigt nicht nur Rückblicke auf sein frühes Leben, sondern soll sich vor allem auf die Entstehung des Albums Exodus konzentrieren, das 1977 veröffentlicht wurde und das Bob Marley als Teil von Bob Marley and the Wailers aufnahm. Dieses Album ist deshalb von besonderer Bedeutung, weil es entstand, kurz nachdem der Musiker ein Attentat überlebt hat und aus seiner Heimat Jamaika nach England verbannt worden war. Regie führt Reinaldo Marcus Green, das Drehbuch stammt von Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers und Terence Winter. Die Hauptrolle spielen Kingsley Ben-Adir als Marley und Lashana Lynch als Rita Marley. Marleys Witwe Rita Marley und Tochter Cedella Marley fungieren neben Robert Teitel auch als ausführende Produzenten des Films.
