Master WMS, WES & WCS, warehouse automation (AS/RS, robotics) and practical AI - from receiving to dispatch.
What you'll learn
Explain how a modern warehouse runs end to end, from receiving through put-away, picking, packing, dispatch and returns.
Distinguish a WMS, a WES and a WCS, and describe how the three layers hand work to each other.
Design directed put-away, picking and slotting rules that cut travel time and errors.
Evaluate warehouse automation - AS/RS, conveyors, sortation, AGVs, AMRs and goods-to-person - and judge when each pays off.
Apply barcode and RFID standards (UPC, EAN, GS1, SSCC) and choose the right data-capture method for a task.
Map integration flows between ERP, WMS, WES, WCS and hardware using EDI, APIs and middleware.
Use AI for demand forecasting, slotting, pick-path and labour optimisation.
Deploy computer vision, predictive maintenance, digital twins and generative-AI assistants in the warehouse.
Measure operations with the KPIs that matter and build a business case for automation and AI.
Plan and run a WMS implementation and an automation/AI roadmap, and design a warehouse in a capstone project.
Requirements
No prior warehouse, logistics or software experience needed - we start from the basics.
Curiosity about how supply chains, automation and AI fit together.
Optional: a spreadsheet to try the ROI, KPI and slotting calculations yourself.
Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence. AI is used to reframe the words, fixing spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes and audio conversion.Every product you have ever bought passed through a warehouse - and the quiet software and machines inside decide whether it ships on time, to the right address, without damage. This course teaches that world end to end: how a modern warehouse actually runs, the WMS, WES and WCS systems that direct the work, the automation and robotics that move the goods, and the AI that increasingly makes the decisions. You will start from the basics - receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and returns - so no prior experience is needed. Then you will go deep on the Warehouse Management System: inventory and location control, task management, directed put-away and picking, wave and waveless order release, and labour management. From there you will unpack the full control stack - how a WES orchestrates work in real time and a WCS drives conveyors, sorters and robots - and how everything integrates with ERP through EDI, APIs and middleware. You will learn the identification standards that hold it together (UPC, EAN, GS1, SSCC, RFID) and the automation that scales it (AS/RS, sortation, AGVs, AMRs, goods-to-person and robotic picking). The final third is what makes this course different: real AI in the warehouse - demand forecasting, slotting, pick-path and labour optimisation, computer vision, predictive maintenance, digital twins and generative-AI assistants - plus the KPIs, costs, safety and change-management that make it all stick. Every concept is grounded in a concrete role and a real metric, with one global example and one India example so it lands wherever you work. You will finish by designing an AI- and automation-empowered warehouse yourself in a hands-on capstone. Taught by a practitioner who has run WMS go-lives and automation projects, this is the honest version: what works, what breaks, and exactly what to do about it. Enrol and learn to run the warehouse of the future.
Warehouse, logistics and supply-chain staff who want to move up.,Operations and plant managers evaluating automation or a new WMS.,IT, ERP and integration professionals supporting warehouse systems.,Students and career-switchers entering logistics, e-commerce or manufacturing.,Consultants and analysts who advise on warehouse automation and AI.
