PLOT

Eine mysterioese Seuche, die die Toten auferstehen laesst, welche dann
Jagd auf die Lebenden machen, ueberrollt die USA. Das System bricht
zusammen, so dass die Ueberlebenden auf Selbsthilfe angewiesen sind.
Eine Gruppe Ueberlebender, darunter die Krankenschwester Anna (Sarah Polley)
und der Polizist Kenneth (Ving Rhames) schliessen sich zusammen und suchen
Zuflucht in einer Shopping Mall, die Unterkunft und Nahrung bietet.
Doch das Resterinnerungsvermgen der lebenden Toten fuehrt diese zurueck an
die Orte ihres Lebens und bald ist auch dieser Ort nicht mehr sicher.
Notgedrungen starten die Ueberlebenden den Versuch vom Festland auf eine Insel
zu fluechten, wozu sie sich den Weg natrlich freikaempfen mssen...
