Plot:

In naher Zukunft: Durch den exzessiven Ressourcenverbrauch
der Menschheit sind die Reserven des Planeten beinahe
erschoepft. Da finden norwegische Wissenschaftler einen Weg,
Personen auf eine Koerpergroesse von zwoelf Zentimetern
schrumpfen zu lassen. Die Idee dahinter ist simpel: Ein
Mensch, der nur noch ein Bruchteil seiner eigentlichen Masse
gross ist, verbraucht auch deutlich weniger Wasser, Luft,
Nahrung und Platz und produziert weniger Abfaelle. Da es um
ihr Leben nicht besonders gut bestellt ist und in der
Miniaturwelt Leisureland selbst Durchschnittsbuergern wie
ihnen ein luxurioeses Leben winkt, beschliessen auch Paul
Safranek (Matt Damon) und seine Frau Audrey (Kristen Wiig)
aus Omaha, sich verkleinern zu lassen. Doch als Paul nach
der Prozedur aus der Narkose erwacht, muss er feststellen,
dass Audrey kalte Fuesse bekommen hat. So muss er ganz
alleine sein Leben in Leisureland auf die Reihe bekommen,
